AS400 Operator - Beg / Inter

An AS400 operator performs a variety of tasks using IBM AS400 computer systems, such as data warehousing, corporate groupware services, Java application development, and web and e-commerce services. As an AS400 operator, your job duties are to configure the AS400 computer and server systems, plan and implement programs, conduct testing of applications running on the AS400 systems, perform troubleshooting, identify bugs, and deploy solutions. Additional responsibilities include operating and monitoring AS400 computer systems, maintaining system security, and informing your supervisor when problems arise.

This course is designed to take the learner from the ground up with an introduction to the AS400 system, using CLs to being able to run RPGLE programs integrated with the DB2. This is neither a programming, nor a database administration course. It is intended to have operational ability pertaining to the AS400.

Prerequisites

Software:

• OS (either one): Linux (Ubuntu 18 or above) / MacOS (Big Sur or above) / Windows (10 only)
• Mocha or ZOC terminal emulator
• Ability to access external URL

Hardware:

• Access to AS400 with at least a developer clearance
• Dual Screen
• Webcam and microphone
• 8GB RAM (at least)
• High Speed internet (above 2.5 Mbps)

Skills:

• Basic knowledge of client server architecture
• Understanding of file systems in own computer
• Basic understanding of RDBMS
