Your Practical AI Assistant at Work - 2-Day Workshop

Most people already understand the basic idea of generative AI: type a question, receive an answer. OpenClaw introduces a more useful concept for everyday work. Instead of treating AI solely as something you visit when you need information, it can be configured as an AI agent that works through familiar communication channels, follows persistent instructions, uses approved capabilities and assists with repeatable tasks.

For non-technical users, the value of OpenClaw is not in understanding its source code or learning software development. It is in learning how to work effectively with an AI agent: deciding what it should be allowed to do, communicating instructions clearly, choosing appropriate capabilities, supervising its work and recognizing where human approval must remain part of the process.

OpenClaw provides a browser-based Control UI and can connect agents to communication platforms including Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, Signal and Google Chat. It also supports multiple agents, separate workspaces and skills that teach an agent how to perform particular workflows.

This two-day workshop gives participants more time to move beyond simply understanding these concepts. Participants will work directly with the platform, configure and personalize agents, practise communicating with them, explore skills and channels, develop repeatable workplace workflows and review the results produced by their agents. The emphasis is on learning by doing while retaining appropriate human supervision.

The workshop is designed for administrative staff, managers, executives, sales teams, HR personnel, researchers and other knowledge workers who want to understand how AI agents can support practical workplace activities. The focus remains non-technical: participants will not be expected to code, understand APIs, administer Linux servers or develop plugins.

Security, privacy and responsible use remain central throughout the workshop. Giving an AI agent access to tools, files or communication channels creates responsibilities that do not exist with an ordinary chatbot. Participants will therefore practise evaluating permissions, reviewing agent behaviour, identifying inappropriate automation and determining where human approval should remain mandatory.

The instructor has over 30 years of industry experience and will use real industry-demanded content and practical workplace scenarios rather than turning the workshop into an academic discussion of artificial intelligence. The extended two-day format allows participants to spend more time applying the concepts themselves, refining their agents and developing realistic workflows while maintaining a practical and manageable scope.

Prerequisites

Participants should:

Be comfortable using a Windows or macOS computer.
Be able to use a modern web browser.
Have general experience using workplace applications.
Be comfortable using messaging applications.
Have basic familiarity with ChatGPT or another generative AI assistant.
