Course Outline for SQL Server Reporting Services

SSRS or SQL Server Reporting Services is a server based reporting tool that helps design both tabular and Matrix style reports. The tool of choice for this is Microsoft SQl Server (Community edition). This is a hands-on two day course meant to cover everything from level zero. There are however certain prerequisites.

Course Outcome

By the end of this course, the learner may be expected to:

• Create Reports using SSRS
• Write Expressions
• Use Images Inside your Report
• Use Built-In Functions of SSRS
• Apply Grouping and SubTotals to your Reports
• Create Parameterized Reports
• Create Drill-Down Reports
• Create Reports with Cascading Parameters
• Implement Inter Active Sorting
• Work with Gauge, DataBar, KPI Indicator, Data Bar Controls
• Create Matrix Reports
• Learn The Deployment Mechanism
• Cache and SnapShot reports

Prerequisites

In order to be able to participate in this course, the learners need to fulfill the following requirements:

• Understanding of the OS they will be using, especially the foiling system.
• Basic SQL.
• Basic understanding of how RDBMS works.
• Fluency in English.
• Access to at least two screens.
• At least 1MBPS net connection.
