This concentrated 5-day course aims to provide learners with a deep understanding of BMC Control-M in a pragmatic and hands-on manner. Unlike a more theoretical academic setting, this course is designed with a strong industry-oriented focus, teaching skills that are directly applicable in a professional IT operations environment.

By presenting learners with practical situations similar to what they would encounter in the industry, they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to leverage BMC Control-M's capabilities effectively from day one on the job.

Course Outline

Day 1: Introduction to BMC Control-M

• Overview of BMC Control-M: its benefits, architecture, and key features.
• Enterprise Workload Automation: understanding the basics.
• Getting started with BMC Control-M: setup and environment navigation.

Day 2: Job Scheduling and Workflow Management in Control-M

• Creating and managing jobs and workflows in Control-M.
• Monitoring and management of job statuses, statistics, and notifications.
• Understanding and implementing job scheduling and workload balancing.

Day 3: Advanced Control-M Operations and Troubleshooting

• Leveraging advanced features: predictive analytics, workload archiving, and automated agent deployment.
• Introduction to BMC Control-M utilities.
• Troubleshooting common issues in Control-M and learning best practices.

Day 4 & 5: Capstone Project and Presentation

• Participants will work on a real-world project that involves the use of BMC Control-M for enterprise workload automation.
• This hands-on project will allow the trainees to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the first three days of training.
• The last half-day will be dedicated to project presentations by trainees, sharing their project's objectives, approach, and key findings.

At the conclusion of the course, participants will have a well-rounded understanding of BMC Control-M and how it's used in industry settings, preparing them to effectively use the platform in their professional roles.
